Bruch Gryniewski Joins Seattle Office of The Gallatin Group

Seattle, WA--Bruce Gryniewski has joined The Gallatin Group as a Principal in the Seattle office. Gryniewski brings to Gallatin a proven record in building consensus and creating alliances between seemingly disparate groups and individuals - particularly in the area of environmental issues.  The Gallatin Group is a regional, bipartisan public affairs firm with offices in Seattle, Portland, Spokane, Boise, Helena and Washington, D.C.

Gryniewski, 48, most recently served as executive director of Washington Conservation Voters (WCV), an environmental organization that backs candidates for office who support policies that promote conservation and quality of life issues.  During his tenure, WCV became one of the most influential, effective, and well-funded State League organizations in the nation.  Gryniewski was also one of the principal architects of the "Priorities for Healthy Washington" policy program, which, in addition to leading to unprecedented policy gains for the environment in Washington State, is a national model of cooperation and success for other Conservation Voter Leagues.

Prior to leading WCV, Gryniewski was executive director of Washington CeaseFire, an organization dedicated to reducing gun violence and supporting responsible gun ownership. His moderate approach and coalition-building skills were demonstrated by the formation of a unique coalition of gun rights proponents and gun safety advocates who came together to mutually support safe gun storage legislation in the Washington State Legislature.

"Gallatin is delighted to add an environmental leader of Bruce's stature to our team," Gary T. Smith, Gallatin's chairman, said.  “Bruce has consistently brought together unusual coalitions to create results for the environment and business, and we are excited about bringing that skill to our clients.”

"Joining The Gallatin Group is a great opportunity to continue work building coalitions between businesses and environmental communities," said Gryniewski.  "My goal is to add to the firm's existing expertise, clientele, and regional and national reach and help build relationships, address issues, and solve problems that will promote both a strong economy and a high quality of life in the Pacific Northwest."

Gryniewski's background also includes graduate study in cultural anthropology at the University of Rochester in New York.  He spent two years in the Federated States of Micronesia where he conducted research on the politics of nationhood in the Southwest Pacific. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family outdoors camping and hiking.
