The Gallatin Group has hired Bruce Gryniewski as a principal in the Seattle office. Gryniewski brings to Gallatin a record in building consensus and creating alliances between seemingly disparate groups and individuals - particularly in the area of environmental issues.
Gryniewski most recently served as executive director of Washington Conservation Voters (WCV), an environmental organization that backs candidates for office who support policies that promote conservation and quality of life issues. Gryniewski was also one of the principal architects of the "Priorities for Healthy Washington" policy program, which, in addition to leading to unprecedented policy gains for the environment in Washington state, is a national model of cooperation and success for other Conservation Voter Leagues.
Prior to leading WCV, Gryniewski was executive director of Washington CeaseFire, an organization dedicated to reducing gun violence and supporting responsible gun ownership. Gryniewski's background also includes graduate study in cultural anthropology at the University of Rochester in New York. He spent two years in the Federated States of Micronesia where he conducted research on the politics of nationhood in the Southwest Pacific.
