(Boise) - John Kotek, an energy policy expert and former deputy manager of the Idaho National Laboratory, has joined The Gallatin Group, substantially broadening the firm’s existing energy practice and expertise. Kotek will divide his time between Idaho and The Gallatin Group's Washington, D.C. office.
"We are extremely pleased to have John Kotek join The Gallatin Group,” said Marc C. Johnson, President of The Gallatin Group and a managing partner in the firm. "John will enhance our already strong energy capabilities and add a major new dimension to our Washington, D.C. office. His years of experience with the Department of Energy, Argonne National Laboratory, and working on Capitol Hill, have made him a genuine energy policy pro."
Kotek most recently served as a principal with Washington Policy & Analysis, a consulting firm that provides strategic energy policy advice to U.S. and international clients. In addition to his extensive experience with the Department of Energy in Idaho and Washington, D.C., Kotek served as a Congressional Fellow on the staff of Sen. Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico, now the chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resource Committee.
Kotek worked for Argonne National Laboratory-West in Idaho as the Generation IV and Nuclear-Hydrogen Programs Manager. He held a variety of positions during his nine years with the Department of Energy, including Associate Director of Technology, Associate Director for Management and Chief of Staff.
