Solving a Taxing Problem

ANALYSIS
When the Montana Department of Revenue (MDOR) faced the challenge of replacing its crippled computer system, Fast Enterprises, maker of GenTax, the first off-the-shelf integrated tax processing package, contacted The Gallatin Group. The company’s goal: obtain legislative support and appropriation for a new revenue system, help restore the credibility of the MDOR, and elevate the image of GenTax® as a successful revenue solution.

ADVOCACY
Gallatin assembled a team to educate legislators and work closely with the state to communicate the benefits of the new system. In addition, we provided strategic advice and monitoring during the legislative session, as well as throughout the proposal period and implementation stages. These efforts, coupled with the reputation of Fast Enterprises and its GenTax® product, were the essential components of this important project.

ADVANTAGE
A legislative appropriation was made, and the MDOR signed a contract with Fast Enterprises.

“Appropriations for replacing the revenue system, which ultimately provided our company with this exciting opportunity in Montana, was assisted greatly by The Gallatin Group.”
James Harrison, CEO
