SITUATION
Engineering firms in the Pacific Northwest offer outstanding technical services to a broad range of public and private clients. While engineers are engaged to solve complicated problems and are often tasked with finding creative and cost-effective solutions, they are not always comfortable communicating complex issues to the public. Gallatin has often been brought in to partner with engineering firm on controversial projects where public and agency engagement is required.

STRATEGY
Gallatin has teamed with many regional engineering firms across the Northwest to augment their team of professionals by developing communications strategies, overseeing regulatory compliance processes, coordinating agency consultation efforts, and facilitating public and media engagement activities. We offer the ability to translate complex technical information into language and solutions that can be understood by the public, permitted by the regulatory agencies, and publicly supported by elected officials and the public.

OUTCOME
In the past two years, Gallatin has assisted in the development or completion of studies, environmental permitting processes and siting for electrical generation facilities, transmission lines, highway projects, airport improvements and water and waste water treatment facilities.
