The Insider
Advocacy and Communications Specialist
“I am a communicator, an advocate and an insider familiar with the intersection of business, politics and the media. I’ve been a reporter in the newsroom, an influential player at Seattle City Hall, and became an expert in infrastructure – particularly in our electricity, wastewater and solid waste utility businesses. I bring to my work intensity, passion and humor – all designed to get things done while enjoying the journey.”
Bob Royer’s public affairs and communications experience in western Washington spans 25 years and includes six years as Seattle’s deputy mayor when his brother Charles Royer served as mayor. He led the team that resolved the decades-long High Ross Dam dispute with Canada and represented the city’s interests in the Skagit River Treaty between Canada and the United States.
Bob has advised clients, including the Bonneville Power
Administration, British Columbia Hydro and Rabanco Companies, on a broad range of regional infrastructure issues. At Seattle City Light he helped the city navigate through the energy crisis of 2000 – 2001 and its aftermath.
Bob is a partner in the Seattle office of Gallatin Public Affairs and a member of the Crisis Communications and Litigation Support, Energy Policy and Facility Siting, State and Local Government Relations, Strategic Communications and Media Relations, and Natural Resources practice groups.
