Ethan assists our clients to secure federal funding and impact policy developments in Congress.
Prior to joining Gallatin, Ethan served as an analyst on the Commission on the National Guard and Reserves, where he developed legislative and policy reforms to improve the readiness of the reserve components, and wrote a chapter of the Commission's final report to Congress. In addition, he advised the 2005 Defense Base Closure and Realignment (BRAC) Commission on the realignment of the Defense Information Systems Agency, Defense Finance and Accounting Service, and each service’s Medical Command Headquarters.
From 2001 to 2005, Ethan worked on Capitol Hill for two members of the House Armed Services Committee. As Senior Legislative Assistant to U.S. Rep. Madeleine Bordallo (D-GU), Ethan managed her appropriations requests and advised the Congresswoman on defense, foreign policy, transportation and trade issues. Ethan served as Military Legislative Assistant to U.S. Rep. Jim Maloney, (D-CT) and focused on helping Connecticut-based companies access federal government research and development programs.
Originally from Australia, Ethan earned a B.S. degree from the Australian National University. He holds a Master of Arts degree from both Georgetown University and the U.S. Naval War College.
