Joe Hardy is a Partner and manages the Washington, D.C., office of Gallatin Public Affairs.

Joe has more than 15 years of experience in public policy and politics, serving as a top aide to Rep. Adam Smith, D - Wash., and Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., and most recently as Vice President of a full-service Washington, D.C., government relations firm. A recognized specialist in defense and technology policy and appropriations, Joe also has expertise in transportation, health care, tax, trade, natural resources and higher education.

In addition to Capitol Hill experience, Joe served as Finance Director for Adam Smith’s successful 1996 congressional campaign, worked on a variety of state and local political campaigns in St. Louis and across Missouri, and managed a state legislative campaign in eastern Washington.

Born in Seattle, Joe attended Mercer Island High School and earned his B.A. degree in political science from Washington State University in Pullman. He also holds a Master of Public Policy Administration degree from the University of Missouri. Joe and his wife, Bethany, live in Arlington, Va., with their son, Kian.

Joe joined Gallatin Public Affairs in 2007.
