Joe Piedmont is Of Counsel to Gallatin's Portland office.

One of the Founding Partners of The Gallatin Group, Joe is a veteran of 35 years in the public affairs profession.

A former vice president of public affairs for The Washington Water Power Company (now Avista Corporation) in Spokane, Joe has a wealth of experience in energy issues.

Prior to his position with Washington Water Power, Joe was Northwest manager of public relations for Kaiser Aluminum in Spokane, where he drew on his earlier experience as Kaiser's public relations representative in the San Francisco Bay area. While with Kaiser in California, Joe served as administrative assistant to Edgar Kaiser, then chairman of the board of more than 50 Kaiser subsidiary companies. Before joining Kaiser, Joe worked for four years in Los Angeles for Transamerica Corporation in various public relations capacities.

Joe is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America and says, “In public policy debate, our goal - and our responsibility - is to inform accurately and credibly. As the issues become more complex, our communications responsibilities become more difficult, but also more necessary.”
