For fifteen years Lyn Darrington has been one of Idaho’s leading government relations professionals.  First as a health policy advisor to then-Utah Governor Mike Leavitt’s Health Policy Commission and now as an advisor to many clients on business, tax, insurance, and health policy matters, Lyn is an experienced public affairs management professional.  Lyn is a Partner in the firm and leads Gallatin’s State and Local Government practice group.

Prior to joining Gallatin, Lyn was assistant vice president of legislative and regulatory affairs for Regence BlueShield of Idaho, where she oversaw all state and federal public policy and state regulatory activity. She helped establish a federal policy function and political action committee for The Regence Group, an affiliation of “Blue” plans in Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Washington.  Lyn began her political education in Washington, D.C first in the office of former U.S. Senator Steve Symms.  Now a seasoned professional, Lyn’s first big legislative win was being part of a Utah team to pass one of the first indoor smoking laws in the nation, and she has played an important role in Idaho’s health and insurance reform throughout the last decade.

A native of Idaho, Lyn is a graduate of Utah State University with degrees in speech and political science, and earned a master’s degree in political science at the University of Utah.  She was recognized by the Idaho Business Review as a “2008 Woman of the Year” and a “40 under 40” leader in 2005.
